Srixon’s hybrids now feature a larger size and hosel adjustability to fit a wider variety of swings and skills. These also benefit from the same approach to face design that has fueled more ball speed in the ZXi drivers. By varying rigid and flexible layers in the face and crown transition areas, these hybrids get an additional speed boost from the flexing of the crown at impact. The increased volume on these (more than 11 percent bigger on the lower lofts) and larger areas in the toe and back provide increased stability on off-center hits. The 12-way adjustable hosel stretches the loft range from 15.5 to 29.5 degrees. Top 5 in Look, high-handicaps 17, 19, 22, 25, 28 degrees (with a 12-way adjustable hosel)

    1. Bells and whistles. Taking a page from the driver and fairway-wood playbooks, Srixon’s newest hybrid boasts a couple of identical technologies: i-Flex and rebound frame. The redesigned face thickness pattern increases the overall sweetspot on the face and works together with two flex zones (rebound frame) to create efficient speed.

Similar to the i-Flex face pattern used in the rest of the lineup, the center region is supported by thicker heel and toe sections that are designed to protect ball speed. The patterns and thickness specifications were specifically tuned for each hybrid.

    2. New look. A generous profile is one of the many benefits a hybrid provides. Forgiveness is a good thing for all player types, especially the game-improvement crowd replacing inconsistent long irons with a hybrid or two.

Instead of sticking with last year’s shape, Srixon expanded the ZXi profile to make it even more forgiving. Every footprint across all lofts saw an uptick, with the 17-degree hitting the 120cc mark for the first time.

The longer blade length and deeper body offer multiple benefits, elevating performance on mis-hits and placing discretionary mass deep in the head for stability purposes. A deeper CG also projects the sweet spot slightly higher on the face, providing more control for shots into the green.

    3. Making moves. Adjustable hosels make it possible for golfers to change the lie angle, loft and face angle with a turn of the wrench. Srixon has expanded the possible loft sleeve combinations with the inclusion of a 12-way setting that incrementally alters loft, lie and face angle to achieve the ideal launch window and shot shape.
