New voices hitting SiriusXM PGA Tour Radio

January 14, 2014

You know you're a diehard golf fan, or so the joke goes, if you're listening to the sport on radio. Well, diehards have some new voices to keep them company.

At the end of 2013, SiriusXM's PGA Tour Radio announced several additions to its lineup of hosts who are slowly making their on-air debuts as the channel starts its 10th year. Golf Digest teaching professional Jim McLean tweeted a photo from his home studio Jan. 7 prior to the launch of his twice-a-week morning program. (David Leadbetter and Hank Haney are also beginning shows to help listeners improve their games.) Former PGA Championship winner Rich Beem kicked off his two-hour weekly program last week after another major champion, Ben Crenshaw, began his new program last month.

Arguably the most anticipated newcomers are a pair of high-profile pros: Henrik Stenson and Ian Poulter. Their official debuts are still to be determined, but the dry wit of Stenson and the brashness of Poulter have the potential to interest more than just diehards.
