Save for later

It’s all about portfolio diversification. Invest in a mix of stocks and bonds; make sure you’re putting money away. But most importantly, buy a links golf course when the opportunity presents itself. With that said, Spey Bay Golf Club is up for sale, and someone out there has to put some money down for it. Why not you?

If you’ve got $2 million and an unquenched desire for something more, might we recommend Spey Bay Golf Club? The 18-hole links course is located at the mouth of the River Spey on the Moray Firth and was put together back in 1907 by renowned Scottish golfer and architect Ben Sayers. It also comes with “a clubhouse with café-style accommodation, a gym, golf shop and ancillary facilities, together with a large practice putting green featuring a ‘Himalayas’ section.” That beats exposed brick and a dishwasher.

The course was previously acquired by LinksDAO just three years ago from the previous owner, Colin Murray. The decentralized autonomous organization (DAO) raised funds through cryptocurrency-based NFTs and will be selling Spey Bay, as most of its members are in the United States.

The new price point is estimated at around £1.5 million, just under $2 million. And that’s for one of the 247 links courses in the world. Plus, there are just 85 total in Scotland. A par 70 at 5,860 yards, Spey Bay is especially known for its 138-yard 8th hole at the easternmost point of the property. According to 2026 numbers, there are 329 members with green fees at £85.

Spey Bay was designed by 1888 T-2 Open finisher Ben Sayers and can now be owned by 2026 you.
