Scottie Scheffler jumped into the Sunday mix at Colonial thanks to a hole-in-one.

The reigning Players champ started the final round at the Charles Schwab Challenge six shots back of leaders Harry Hall and Adam Schenk, and though Scheffler birdied his first hole he followed with seven pars, seemingly putting an end to any notions of a late charge in Fort Worth.

However, Scheffler’s hopes remain alive thanks to some 7-iron sorcery, knocking in his tee shot at the par-3 eighth from 189 yards for an ace:

Look at that camera shake! What a cool moment for the local favorite.

The hole-in-one was the second of the week at No. 8, with Harris English notching an ace on Friday. It’s the second hole-in-one of Scheffler’s career, the first coming down the road at the AT&T Byron Nelson.

Scheffler’s ace jumped him into fourth with Hall and Schenk just beginning their rounds. Given Scheffler’s putting struggles this week (71st in SG/putting, losing almost five shots on the greens to the field), maybe holing every approach is the way to go.
