Scottie Scheffler will add 'College GameDay guest picker' to his illustrious résumé this Saturday
ESPN's popular Saturday morning pregame show, "College GameDay," announced it will have a "former convict" on as guest-picker this week at the Texas vs. Georgia game in Austin.
And by "former convict," we mean two-time Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, who will add GameDay picker to illustrious list of things that have happened to him in 2024, which includes being arrested after a traffic run-in with police in May at the PGA Championship. The Worldwide leader clearly feels the World No. 1's image has been reformed enough to put him on national TV.
Obviously, we're just messing around. Scheffler won't be showing up in an orange jumpsuit (all charges were dropped less than a month after the tournament) this Saturday ahead of his alma mater's tilt with the Bulldogs. Based off this announcement tweet, it seems plausible he might be donning the green jacket at the desk next to Kirk Herbstreit, Pat McAfee, Nick Saban, Rece Davis and Desmond Howard:
Might Scheffler wear the gold medal, too? Now that would be quite the flex. It's also possible that the former Longhorn rocks some burnt orange and white. Gotta support the team. Guess we'll find out.
Believe it or not, this is not Scheffler's first appearance on GameDay. While he has yet to be a guest-picker, Scheffler did join the show for the Texas vs. Alabama game in 2022, when he was surprised with the Jack Nicklaus Award:
