Rory McIlroy will be too busy (understandably) celebrating his Masters victory to make it to the RBC Heritage, but four of the remaining five top-ranked golfers in the world are set to tee off at Harbour Town for the PGA Tour's latest signature event. Most notably, defending champion Scottie Scheffler will return, with $20 million up for grabs and another chance for his first win of the calendar year.

Justin Rose will make the trip to Hilton Head Island as well, after a spectacular Sunday at Augusta National, which featured 10 birdies and a closing 66 that leaped him into a playoff with McIlroy. He will have an opportunity to finish the job this go-around, but will have to best Scheffler, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Åberg, Russell Henley, Justin Thomas, Viktor Hovland and many more. Watch out for Sungjae Im, too, the South Korean coming off of a T-5 Masters finish and has had four straight top-25s at Harbour Town.

The iconic Pete Dye/Jack Nicklaus course was slightly lengthened last year and will have a few tweaks for 2025 such as the fairway bunkers on Nos. 2 and 6 reverting to waste areas. After this year’s tournament, Harbour Town will be closed for an extensive restoration project run by Davis Love III.

In the late 1960s, Jack Nicklaus landed the design contract for Harbour Town, then turned it over to his new partner, Pete Dye, who was determined to distinguish his work from that of rival Robert Trent Jones. Soon after Harbour Town opened in late November 1969 (with a victory by Arnold Palmer in the Heritage Classic), the course debuted on America’s 100 Greatest as one of the Top 10.
