Players Championship: Watch Adam Schenk use a wedge to complete crazy two-'putt' on No. 17

March 16, 2024

For most golfers, keeping your tee shot dry on the island-green 17th at TPC Sawgrass ends most of the drama on the treacherous par 3. For Adam Schenk on Saturday, however, the adventure was just beginning at that point.

Schenk recorded a green in regulation, but with his ball on the back-right porition of the green and the pin on the front-left, one announcer said he might be facing "the longest putt ever" on the hole. But Schenk nearly had more problems on his hands moments later when his birdie putt from about 70 feet nearly found the water.

In fact, it would have if not for that new "bumper" rough around the edge that has had Golf Twitter fired up all week. But with his golf ball resting in the rough, Schenk went to a wedge to complete one of craziest two-putts (Yes, that's how it will officially count in the stats) you'll ever see:

You never know what you're going to see on No. 17, huh? Here's how the whole thing looked on ShotTracker:

Not exactly how you draw it up, but a par is a par. Especially on the scariest par 3 in the world.
