Paige Spiranac makes cut on Ladies European Tour

July 23, 2016

Last December, when Paige Spiranac fared poorly in her professional debut in the Ladies European Tour's Dubai Ladies Masters, her initial reaction was to want to crawl under a rock. Her next reaction was to set out to prove she could cut it as a pro.

Fast forward seven months, and Spiranac, the Instagram sensation who was featured on Golf Digest's May cover, has done that. In her second appearance on the Ladies European Tour, in the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, Spiranac made the cut at seven-over par 151. The tournament features a number of European Solheim Cup veterans, including Catriona Matthew, Carin Koch, and World Golf Hall of Famer Laura Davies.

"I've been working really hard on my game so it was great to make the cut," Spiranac said by text from Scotland. "I still have a lot of work to go, but this is a good start and a step in the right direction."

While the made cut was Spiranac's first on a major women's tour, she already picked up her first professional win when she shot 68 in the final round of a Cactus Tour event this spring.

At this rate, she's destined to be a star. Oh wait, she already is . . .
