WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: Have you ever picked up a Maxfli golf ball in the woods and immediately discarded it? In the year of our lord, 2025, that may be a colossal mistake. The new Maxfli Tour Series golf balls, played by PGA Tour pro Ben Griffin and LPGA pro Lexi Thompson, may be the best-kept secret in golf.

PRICE: $40 per dozen, $70 for two dozen, and $120 for four dozen. There are three models, the Tour, Tour X and Tour S.

3 Cool Things

1. Construction. All three balls use a cast urethane cover. The Tour and Tour S are three-piece construction, while the Tour X is four-piece. The series of balls are designed to reach a variety of golfers, player type and swing speeds. With the Tour S, players will find less long game spin while maintaining plenty of spin greenside. With the Tour X, players will see more spin and higher launch with every club in the bag. The Tour is somewhere in the middle, providing mid spin in the long game and high spin around the greens. The enhanced alignment aid is featured across all Maxfli balls. The center of gravity balancing process, which the company first introduced with its tour balls in 2019, combined with the new "Max align" alignment aid gives more confidence on the green. This is designed to aid in increased putting consistency, accuracy and ball roll visibility.

2. History. Maxfli balls have been played by champions across the British Open, Masters and U.S. Open, with wins from Arthur Havers, Fuzzy Zoeller, Sandy Lyle, Curtis Strange, and Fred Couples. Since announcing he was putting the Tour X into play last May, Ben Griffin has made 29 PGA Tour starts and finished inside the top 20 11 times, including three results of T-4 or better.

3. Changing the narrative. How do you get people to ditch a trusted ball they've played for years in favor a brand they may have forgotten existed? Griffin using it and playing well with it is certainly a start. But, as Maxfli's Scarlett says, there's more to it than that.

"We are working to get our Maxfli Tour balls into the hands of as many golfers as possible," said Scarlett. "We know that once they are put into play, their quality and performance speak for themselves. Our base of golfers has continued to grow over the years, and many have turned into our advocates and brand ambassadors. People who play Maxfli love it, and it's only a matter of time until the Maxfli Tour ball in the woods is a coveted find."
