The biggest non-story from Sunday's final round of the 2025 Masters seems to have actually been a rather large story based off the internet's reaction.

If you go into the comments of any post about Rory McIlroy not speaking to Bryson DeChambeau at all during their Sunday stroll together, you'll inevitably see hundreds of "no one cares" or "this is not a story" takes. Meanwhile, just to give you a little peek behind the curtain, there's a chance this article goes down as our biggest traffic-driving post of 2025, and the engagement with this non-story on social media has been astronomical.

Of course, you could argue still that it's not a story, and that's just the nature of Elon Musk and Donald Trump's internet. But the point remains - people did care about it, people did react to it, and there's nothing wrong with wondering ... was there something more to McIlroy ignoring his playing partner, who just so happened to rip his heart out at the U.S. Open at Pinehurst last summer, all day?

We debated this heated topic on this week's Masters recap episode of The Loop podcast, in addition to a number of other things like whether or not Rory has now eclipsed the career of Phil Mickelson and if the Georgia Peach Ice Cream sandwich is overrated or underrated. Hard-hitting stuff only, folks.

Plus, RBC Heritage picks, and our stories of how two of us not named Stephen Hennessey got a little wrist slap by the fine folks at Augusta National. We'd like to be invited back next year, so let's just say they were in the right. Please, have a listen below, and like and subscribe to The Loop wherever you get your podcasts.
