Masters 2018: Watch Phil Mickelson pull off amazing driver-off-the-deck shot, make eagle

April 07, 2018

Following a triple bogey-bogey start (that included a whiff) to a soggy Saturday morning, Phil Mickelson looked like a man who would have preferred to miss the cut at the 82nd Masters instead of sneaking into the weekend on the number. But even having completely shot himself out of the tournament in two holes -- and bundled up in rain gear -- the five-time major champ managed to provide fans with arguably the highlight of the week thus far at Augusta National.

With nothing to lose -- not that that ever matters for the aggressive lefty -- Mickelson attempted a daring driver-off-the-deck shot for his second into the par-5 8th. And to say he pulled it off would be an understatement. Check out Mickelson's amazing effort and his ensuing eagle putt, which he converted. Of course.

Mickelson added a birdie on the ninth hole to make the turn in a rather unusual one-over-par 37. Well, unusual for anyone other than Phil.
