Lindsey Vonn announces "mutual" breakup with Tiger Woods after three years of dating

Just weeks after their most public display of being a couple, Tiger Woods and Lindsey Vonn have ended their relationship.

Vonn made the announcement on her Facebook page on Sunday with the following statement:

*After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we've created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart. *

The Facebook announcement comes a little more than two years after the couple first disclosed their relationship on Facebook. Woods responded with a similar statement on TigerWoods.com:

Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating.

I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I'll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family.

Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It's difficult to spend time together.

Vonn, Woods and Woods' two kids seemed to be getting along like a happy family during the Masters Par 3 contest. It was a rare glimpse into Woods' private life. Less than two weeks after that, Vonn told People Magazine that Woods is "an amazing father." She added, "You know, I feel privileged to be along for the ride, and I help as much as I can. They're great kids -- I love 'em."

Of course, she also hinted on Late Night with Seth Meyers she's not thrilled with how long Tiger's rounds of golf take. That being said, Vonn frequently walked with Woods when he played and Woods was often at Vonn's ski races, most notably earlier this year with the whole "Toothgate" incident. Woods claimed a cameraman knocked out his tooth and while most questioned his claim, Vonn came to his defense.

Sadly, this is the third high-profile golf split in the past year. Rory McIlroy broke off his engagement with Caroline Wozniacki last May and Jason Dufner and Amanda Dufner announced their divorce in March.
