On April 29, Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves scored 19 points in a losing effort against the Denver Nuggets, who capped off their NBA Playoff series four games to one.

Monday in Tennessee, Reaves attempted to qualify for the Korn Ferry Tour’s Visit Knoxville Open after, according to the L.A. Times, telling a friend that he was board and needed something to do.

Reaves shot six-over 76 at Three Ridges Golf Course in Knoxville. It took 65 to advance to Thursday’s first round

“I was laying on the couch the other day and I was bored, and I called [my friend] and said ‘Find me a Monday qualifier around here,’” Reaves told the L.A. Times after his round.

The 25-year-old made three birdies, six bogeys and one triple bogey on the par-70 layout.

“Like, I was nervous,” Reaves told the Times. “This was the first time I got on the tee box like I was locked in to win this … and it didn’t go that way.”

Reaves averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game this year for the Lakers. He appeared in all 82 games in this, his third year with the team.
