Watch the WILD video of Jerry Rice literally chasing down a heckler at the American Century Championship
Jerry Rice takes himself, his career, his place in history and San Francisco 49er football very, very seriously. Look no further than this exchange with a reporter at the 2024 American Century Championship in Tahoe, where Rice lost his cool over a perceived "troll" question about the Kansas City Chiefs receiving core:
The context: the Chiefs had beaten the 49ers in the Super Bowl the season prior, and Rice took this as some not-so-playful needling of that fact. Surely, it didn't help, either, that it was the second time in five years that the Niners lost to KC in the big one.
Still, a wildly aggressive overreaction, no?
Well, if you know anything about Rice, it's par for the course. There are numerous clips, from the American Century Championship, specifically, of Rice losing his temper. Here's another from 2024 of Rice asking fans to "stop calling him out" over not signing autographs:

He's not a man to be trifled with. Unfortunately, nobody told that to a poor soul at this year's ACC who heckled Rice after he hit a tee shot, yelling "FORE" in a joking manner.
Rice wasn't having it, literally chasing the guy down to confront him. You have to see it to believe it:
