It's hailing(!) at TPC Scottsdale—and the WM Phoenix Open tournament forecast doesn't look much better
You can always expect a few non-golf videos to emerge during WM Phoenix Open week. They just usually involve, um, rowdy fans—and not the wrath of Mother Nature.
But on Wednesday at TPC Scottsdale all anyone was talking about was the weather. It was cold. It was rainy. And, it was even hailing. Check out some of these videos showing how bad conditions were:
Again, this is TPC SCOTTSDALE! This is supposed to be the greatest show on grass, a giant outdoor party in beautiful weather! Instead, for a second consecutive week the tour is getting crushed by the elements.
Last week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am had to be shortened to 54 holes. And although nothing in this week's forecast looks as bad, the next four days don't look great.
Again, this is an event that has had more than 700,000 people pass through its gates in the past.
No matter how many people wind up going this year, they should probably consider bringing umbrellas. And boots.
