Women’s Golf Day, in its 10th year, celebrates women in golf. And this year is certainly a good time to be excited about women’s golf. The National Golf Foundation has found that 7.8 million women and girls played golf on-course in 2024, making up 28 percent of all U.S. golfers. That’s the highest number of women playing golf in the U.S. in history.

Women’s Golf Day wants to help that number continue to grow.

The team at Women’s Golf Day has a clear philosophy: “Create a supportive and inclusive community of women who can come together to learn, play, and grow through the sport of golf.”

All over the world, golf courses, ranges, simulators and golf shops are celebrating in their own ways. Some courses are hosting clinics, some shops are offering discounts to women. An indoor golf company is celebrating for the entirety of June by offering free simulator time for women.

Every Wednesday throughout the month, women can use the simulators at Five Iron Golf for free. The promotion is happening in partnership with Golf Digest. You can choose to get your own crew together and use the promo code online to book 90 minutes of simulator time, or you can go a Five Iron location from 5-8 p.m. to participate in their free Wednesday event, called Gals of the Green. There, you’ll meet other women who are interested in the game, and you can sip on Prosecco while getting instruction from Five Iron coaches. Again, it's all free.

The goal is for women to create a community within golf, in a low-pressure environment.

"Creating inclusive and welcoming spaces has always been at the heart of Five Iron," Nora Dunnan, co-founder and chief development officer, said in the press release. "Women’s Golf Month gives us the opportunity to celebrate the many women who already love the game, while also inviting new players to experience golf in a fresh, accessible way."

Five Iron has 34 locations; check their website to see if there’s one near you. And if not, take a look at all of the locations around the world that are hosting Women’s Golf Day events and find somewhere to play in June.
