Save for later

The tour moved to the Farmers Insurance Open at Torrey Pines and, at least for the first few days, most of the headlines surround Brooks Koepka, who was playing in his first PGA Tour event for the first time in four years. The five-time major champion left LIV Golf at the end of the year and applied for membership on the PGA Tour. He was allowed to return as part of the Returning Member Program and thus, here we are.

But, once the tournament started, all the headlines went to Justin Rose, who steamrolled the field after opening with 62 and going on to lead wire-to-wire and win by a whopping seven shots. He ended at 23-under-par total and took home $1.728 million from the overall $9.6 million purse. Pierceson Coody, Si Woo Kim and Ryo Hisatsune tied for second place at 16 under par.

It was Rose's 13th career PGA Tour victory and he was the first player since Tommy Bolt in 1955 to go wire-to-wire in winning this event.

Back to Koepka, who scrambled to make the cut, then shot 73-70 over the weekend to tie for 56th place. He said his lone goal was to play four rounds this week at Torrey Pines, which he did. He's now off to Phoenix to play next week.

This week also marked the third event where players earned points toward the Aon Swing 5, where the top five following Phoenix will earn spots into the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Genesis Invitational.

Here’s the rundown of what each player earned this week in San Diego.
