    Save for later

This was the fifth LIV Golf event of the year and the third straight week the league had played in three different countries. But this marked the first time they’ve ever played in Africa, competing at the Club at Steyn City in Johannesburg. The all-South African Southern Guards team of Louis Oosthuizen, Dean Burmester, Branden Grace and Charl Schwartzel was responsible for bringing the event here.

The usual cast of characters was playing for the $30 million purse with the individual winner taking home $4 million and the winning team splitting $3 million. That winner ... Bryson DeChambeau, who topped Jon Rahm with a birdie on the first hole of a playoff. That comes after beating Richard T. Lee in a playoff in Singapore where Lee missed a two-foot putt. It's the last LIV event before the Masters.

DeChambeau's Crushers team beat the Southern Guards by a shot after the South African team was up by nine shots at one point on Sunday.

Up next is the Mexico City event April 16-19 at Club de Golf Chapultapec, the week after the Masters.

Here’s the rundown of what each player earned this week in South Africa.
