Here’s the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2025 Cognizant Classic

Tracy Wilcox
The calendar has reached March and the PGA Tour has reached the Sunshine State to start a full month worth of big events in Florida. It all started with the Cognizant Classic at PGA National, which was a pushover early in the week with ridiculously low scores on the historically tough Champion Course.
By week's end it was Joe Highsmith who collected his first PGA Tour victory after making the cut just on the number. That's right, after barely making it to the weekend, Highsmith shot 64-64 in the last two rounds to top Jacob Bridgeman and J.J. Spaun by two shots. Highsmith takes home $1.656 million from the overall $9.2 million purse and with it all the benefits of becoming a PGA Tour winner. Bridgeman and Spaun both earned $818,000.
Jake Knapp started off the week with a 59, that was very nearly a 58. But he was not able to hold on and made an untimely triple bogey on the 11th hole of the final round and shot 72. He tied for sixth place with Russell Henley and Michael Kim.
Amateur Luke Clanton made headlines too by earning his PGA Tour card via the PGA Tour University accelerated program. The Florida State junior only needed to make the cut in order to earn status and easily did so, then shot 70-69 on the weekend to tie for 18th place. He will be able to accept status following the college golf season, or can defer it until after his season season next year.
Up next: the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, the next signature event on the schedule. The Players Championship is the next week at TPC Sawgrass.
