Yes, there were two PGA Tour events this week. While the top players were in Florida at the Arnold Palmer Invitational, there was an opposite event at the Puerto Rico Open, where players could take advantage of a prime opportunity to earn FedEx Cup points.

Erik Barnes and Brice Garnett both ended the week at 19 under par to get into a playoff at Grande Reserve Golf Club. After halving the first three holes in par, birdie, par, Garnett finally ended the tournament with a birdie from 15 feet on the fourth playoff hole to win for the second time on the PGA Tour. He won the Corales Puntacana Championship in 2018 by four shots over Keith Mitchell and takes home $720,000 from the overall purse of $4 million, which coincidentally is what Scottie Scheffler earned for winning at Bay Hill.

"I told someone at home last week that I wouldn't still be playing if I didn't think I could still do this," an emotional Garnett said. "It's hard, but this is why we do it."

Garnett, at 40-year-old from Missouri, was just wondering what sort of status he'd have when the tour does it's next reshuffle. Now he's heading to Ponte Vedra Beach to play in the Players Championship next week.

Barnes, 36, will continue to look for his first tour victory. He had an attempt at birdie to tie Garnett on the fourth playoff hole from 12 feet but the ball just slid by the hole. He collected $436,000.

Victor Perez, Hayden Springer and Jimmy Stanger tied for third place at 18-under-par total.
