Here's the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2023 Zozo Championship

The waiting is the hardest part. And that proved to be the case for Collin Morikawa, who had to wait 27 months and 48 PGA Tour starts from his fifth career PGA Tour win at the 2021 Open Championship to victory No. 6 on Sunday at the Zozo Championship.

The 26-year-old had played plenty of solid golf in the meantime, but struggled to close things out until the final round at Japan’s Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club, where he posted a bogey-free seven-under 63 to charge up the leader board and cruise to a six-shot victory over runner-up Eric Cole.

“It was incredible. Yeah, it feels incredible,” Morikawa said. “Every win's so different, and every experience, whether it's winning or losing, you learn a lot, but this one just meant the world. I mean, obviously having this kind of two-year drought, you know, just struggling at times, not really contending, to do what I did through this entire week, Thursday, Friday, and then how I started my round yesterday with a double bogey, it just … that's the golf I miss playing. To see that and to see it again, it's very exciting kind of just to close out this year and head into next year.”

Morikawa’s finish was particularly impressive as he played his final 24 holes in 12 under par.
