Save for later

With some luck, there will be a time in your life when you’re invited to a nice golf club. And you might find that at this club, there’s a somewhat strict dress code. Perhaps you already play golf in long skirts and shorts, but if you’re like me, your go-to golf skirts are a little shorter than what strict dress codes allow. Many private clubs require skirts to be at least past your fingertips when your arms are hanging at your side. A few go so far as to require knee-length bottoms. Some don’t care at all. Ask your host or call the club to find out what their dress code is before you go. You’re going to want a go-to skirt in your closet so you’re not scrambling, stricken with panic as you hope whatever you order online arrives before your tee time.

For many women, 17-inch skirts are going to pass the finger-tip rule. But note that if you are quite tall or proportioned such that your legs are long, some skirts listed here might not be long enough.
