Finally, we have closure to the ending to "Inception"

Was it real, or was it a dream? Forget "Is a hot dog a sandwich?" or "Is the dress white and gold or black and blue?"; the ending to "Inception" is this era's greatest existential debate. (Note to future generations: If you're wondering why we haven't cured cancer yet, here's your clue.)

Since the movie' arrival in 2010, director Christopher Nolan has been evasive when asked to explain the infamous final scene.

Luckily, actor and Encyclopedia Britannica-in-human-form Michael Caine has shed light on this global ambiguity.

While introducing "Inception" at a summer film festival, Caine disclosed what Nolan told him about ending.

"When I got the script of Inception, I was a bit puzzled by it and I said to him 'I don't understand where the dream is',” Caine told the crowd. “I said, 'When is it the dream and when is it reality?' He said, 'Well when you're in the scene it's reality.' So get that - if I'm in it, it's reality. If I'm not in it, it's a dream.”

CAINE BOMB. Which means...OH MY GOD, Leonardo got to be with his kids! DREAMS, EVEN IN REAL LIFE, DO COME TRUE! (At least in fictional movies.)

Or, you know, Caine was talking out of his ass. The guy has a reputation for giving zero f*cks. I'm sure that's changed now that he's 85.
