The formal invitations to the 2022 Masters aren’t expected to go out for another week or so. And for 10 golfers who hadn’t yet locked up a spot in the first men’s major of the new year, well they should be keeping their eye on the mailbox.

The Official World Golf Ranking for this week and the final week of 2021 were released on Sunday, the numbers crunchers able to calculate both simultaneously thanks to the fact that there are no events that earn World Ranking points left to be played this December. Augusta National traditionally invites the top 50 in the final yearly ranking to play the following April. Of those 50, these 10 players still were looking for a way to in the field and can now make plans for the second week of April:

    Tyrrell Hatton (22)
    Matt Fitzpatrick (24)
    Matthew Wolff (30)
    Lee Westwood (37)
    Mackenzie Hughes (39)
    Tommy Fleetwood (40)
    Ryan Palmer (47)
    Christiaan Bezuidenhout (48)
    Min Woo Lee (49)
    Takumi Kanaya (50)

While these 10 can celebrate, it also means that a handful of players who just missed out on the top 50 have work to do in the new year to get into the Masters.

Among them is Cameron Tringale, who finished in the not so happy spot of No. 51 of the final week’s ranking. The next three in the ranking who aren’t yet in the Masters are Ian Poulter (54), Russell Henley (57) and Bernd Wiesberger (58).
