Yep, you read that right. The latest brand to hop on the bandwagon that is the art (and business) of the golf apparel collaboration is none other than Gap, the casually-cool sartorial stronghold that’s been swinging and styling from malls across the country since its founding in 1969.

The brand is highlighting its legendary sense of Americana—and San Francisco roots—thanks to the assist of fellow Californian and lifestyle aficionado Malbon, now a decided pro of the golf-meets-fashion collab, known for its seamless, even groundbreaking ability to bridge the gap (pun intended) between street-style fashion and golf performance wear.

Here to propel the weighty collection is Malbon brand ambassador and five-time PGA Tour winner Jesper Parnevik, who stars in the campaign along with his stylish offspring, Peg and Phoenix. The family can be seen modeling the looks, which include everything from elevated basics like the specialty logo graphic tee and cable knit sweater, to more statement items like the plaid mini skort, layerable utility vest or bomber jacket and matching (pleated!) baggy shorts—all of which are designed to be styled for the course and beyond. (Coordinating outfits with your cool family members is encouraged but not required.)

The collection, which was announced today and becomes available online and in select stores beginning on Friday, June 6 at 9 a.m. PT, ranges in price point from a cool $18 to a cooler $138, making this capsule notably more affordable than many previous Malbon collaborations (namely and most recently their enviable, luxe sophomore Jimmy Choo drop in which even a lowly-but-very-suave bag charm costs $325—and don’t even ask about the designer golf bags). The color palette speaks to the legacy of golf with dusted emerald and sunshine beige hues, as well as both brands’ American roots with denim-inspired blues and coastal navy.

Don’t miss one of the collection's signature, and perhaps most playfully memorable details, the “PAR” graphic, designed to mimic the classic, iconic typography of the signature, blocky “GAP” logo, now, with the assist from Malbon, given a witty, golfy glow-up. Here’s to hoping the uniquely approachable collab introduces many new players to the sport.
