DP World Tour caddie shows off wild tattoo he had to get after losing bet with his boss

Save for later

Daniel Brown was brought to tears after winning the BMW International Open on Sunday following the loss of a close friend. The surprise contender at last year's British Open said his second career DP World Tour title was "for him" and that the victory felt like an "outer-body experience."

But apparently, he also found a bit of motivation in a side bet with his caddie.

Ahead of this week's Scottish Open, caddie Neil Crate showed off a fresh—and wild—tattoo that he had to get after his boss won in Germany. Have a look:

That's a decent amount of ink! "70-65-65-66= 266(-22) Munich, 2025" the tat reads, commemorating the duo's win.

"Little side bet we had on Saturday," Brown explains in the video. "If I obviously won on Sunday, then he had to get the score tattooed on him."

Then Crate flashes a big smile with a big thumbs up, because that was one bet he certainly didn't mind losing. And, hey, as a caddie, you've got to motivate your player by any means necessary.

So nice job, Neil. Maybe offer to get a big claret jug tattooed on you ahead of next week's Open Championship if Brown wins this time. Just a thought.
