Charley Hull is the first woman from England to achieve this milestone

Charley Hull is one of the most popular players on the LPGA Tour. She’s also one of the best. We’re only a few events into the 2026 season, and Hull is already making history. She’s reached a new spot on the Roles Women's World Ranking, No. 3. It's not only her personal best, it’s the best of any Englishwoman in history. It was after her Ladies European Tour victory at the PIF Saudi Ladies International that she earned her new ranking.
“Obviously, my goal was always to be world No. 1,” Hull, 29, said. “But yeah, it's pretty cool that obviously got to No. 3. But I'm not really one to stare at rankings and stuff because it shifts all the time. I just look at it, think it's pretty cool, carry on, and crack on, play golf.”
The British slang term "crack on" means "to resume an activity." Hull is great at it. She doesn’t get caught up in a moment, whether it’s a good one or a bad one. She moves on. It may be that attitude that has led her to this historic height. And that will sustain her as she continues her ascent.
The achievement is all the more impressive when you consider the number of setbacks Hull has had over the course of the past season. She hurt her back in July, and she collapsed on-course at the Amundi Evian soon thereafter. She tore a ligament in her ankle in August. In February, she was hospitalized with an undisclosed ailment. She considered not playing in the HSBC Women’s World Championship but instead arrived late and finished T-10.
Hull currently trails world No. 1 Jeeno Thitikul and No. 2 Nelly Korda in the rankings.
