Save for later

Bryson DeChambeau sent out a 283-word social media message Sunday and, while it was eight paragraphs, it still didn’t say much.

The two-time major champ and biggest name to remain with LIV Golf before it shut its doors last week, said he wouldn’t apologize for the disruptions the league made the last few years, highlighted some of his biggest memories during the span, thanked his Crushers team and gave a slight update on what’s next.

“I’m not going to rewrite the last four years,” he started the message. “I made a decision I believed in, and I’m grateful for what came with it.”

DeChambeau, 33, then said he’ll remember crowds in Australia and South Africa most.

While he did not directly acknowledge that LIV Golf is done, he did give thanks to all those behind the scenes with the Crushers team he captained as well as his teammates, Paul Casey, Charles Howell III and Anirban Lahiri. He also said that he still believes in the concept of team golf.

The next event where DeChambeau will compete is the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa, which is hosted by Gary Player. “Beyond that, I’ll go about whatever is next the right way,” he said.

“My passion has been to grow this game,” he wrote in closing. “That’s still the goal. Thank you for sticking with me. Together we can all grow this great game we love.”
