Save for later

Rasmus Hojgaard shot up the leaderboard on Friday at Royal Portrush as announcers joked that it's hard to tell him and twin brother Nicolai, also moving up the leaderboard, apart. But it wasn't hard to see that Rasmus looked a lot different than he did earlier in the week.

And that's why you need golf writers on the scene. To ask important questions of the players. Questions like . . . Did you get a midweek haircut this week?

Good observation! Here was Rasmus' response:

"I did actually. I took the flow away," said Hojgaard, who had the lead at one point during the second round before finishing at five under after a Friday 68. "It got a bit too long, and I sort of thought, no, this is the time. So I managed to get a haircut on Wednesday. So far it's actually worked out."

So far, so good is right. Here's a look at Rasmus taking off his hat after completing his second round:

And here's a look at that "flow" he mentioned from Wednesday's practice round:

Now, he still has a decent flow. It's not like he went all Rory McIlroy with that unfortunate haircut ahead of last week's Scottish Open.

Anyway, good job by Rasmus taking advantage of that locker-room barber—and getting a solid haircut. If he keeps up this play the next couple days, this might become a tradition for him.
