Oh Canada

Blue Jays fan gifts Aaron Judge fan Aaron Judge home run ball, reminds everyone there is still good in the world

Folks, what you are about to witness might be the most Canada moment in the history of Canada. Apologies for the stereotyping, though there are much, much worse stereotypes than your country being known as the most painfully-kind humans on the planet.

On Tuesday night in Toronto, the New York Yankees continued to roll, winning their 11th straight game and clinching a series victory over the Blue Jays. Aaron Judge blasted his league-leading ninth home run of the season, an absolute moonshot to deep left field that reached the second deck, tying the game at 1-1 (the Yankees went on to win 9-1).

But enough about No. 99. The best part of his incredible at-bat came after the ball sailed over the fence and into the hands of a Blue Jays fan, who immediately turned around and handed the Judge home-run ball to a young Yankees fan who happened to be wearing an Aaron Judge shirsey. Hollywood wishes it could script this stuff:

Damn, is it allergy season? Because your boy needs some tissues. You cannot be a better human than this guy, who was so ready to soak in all the glory that comes with catching a homer in the damn second deck, mind you, but instead gifted the ball to this young fan without (clap emoji) batting (clap emoji) an (clap emoji) eye (clap emoji). Every day, something happens in this godforsaken world that makes you question how people could be so despicable, but then there's guys like this Jays fan that remind you there are still a handful of solid blokes out there. Most of them are in Canada, of course.

In case this whole deal didn't make you emotional enough, Judge caught wind of the moment during a postgame scrum with the media, and his face lit up:

The absolute best sport.
