Anthony Kim hits first tee shot back with cameras rolling, promptly asks for a 'mulligan'
Anthony Kim's comeback doesn't officially start until Friday's first round of the LIV Golf Jeddah event, but he hit his first shot with the cameras rolling on Thursday. And, well, it didn't go as well as he'd like.
Have a look as Kim—clad in a white t-shirt and gym shorts—teed off to start Thursday's pro-am in Saudi Arabia. And then promptly asked, "Can I get a mulligan?"
Obviously, Kim was joking. At least, we think. Earlier in the week, Talor Gooch said there should be an asterisk if Rory wins the Masters this year because he's not in the field, so you never know with some of these guys. But to be clear, there are no mulligans in pro golf. Not even on LIV.
Of course, AK displaying some rust is to be expected. After all, it's been nearly a dozen years since he last played in a tournament at the 2012 Wells Fargo Championship. That was so long ago, Rory only had one major at that point!
Kim will play the rest of the 2024 LIV season as a wild card and not on any of the league's 13 teams. He has an 8:15 a.m. local tee time (3:15 ET in the U.S.) with Cameron Smith and Graeme McDowell. We wish AK the best, but based on this video, you might want to keep your head on a swivel if you plan on being in his gallery.
