The clubs Aldrich Potgieter used to win the 2025 Rocket Classic

“Own the dream” is the slogan of the title sponsor of the Rocket Classic, and for Aldrich Potgieter, they did just that by winning their first PGA Tour title at Detroit G.C. The win came via an 18-foot birdie putt on the fifth extra hole of a three-way playoff with Max Greyserman and Chris Kirk, who bowed out three holes earlier, after an intense final nine.
It’s not often a 20-year-old wins on the PGA Tour but Potgieter is not your typical PGA Tour player. A throwback to the strict bomb-and-gouge style of play, Potgieter was the epitome of the old “drive for show, putt for dough” saw. Potgieter possesses prodigious length and for the week averaged 337.2 yards off the tee to top the field in that stat. His driver is Titleist’s GT2 at 9 degrees with a hefty Fujikura Ventus Black 8x shaft.
Into the greens, Potgieter used a split set of Titleist’s yet-to-be-released 2025 versions of its T100, T150 and T250 irons to rank third in greens in regulation. He translated those plentiful opportunities into 27 birdies (the most in the field) and one eagle.

That’s because his work with his Scotty Cameron by Titleist 009M tour prototype blade putter was money. Potgieter didn’t three-putt all week while picking up just under two strokes on the field on the greens.
At 20 years, 9 months and 16 days, Pogieter is the seventh-youngest player to win on tour since 1983. Being one of the youngest to win is something he’s used to, given he won the 2022 British Amateur at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, marking him the second youngest winner in the events 127-year history at age 17.
Like we said, not your typical PGA Tour player. One who is used to owning his dreams.
