Aaron Rodgers compared Egypt to Augusta National and it somehow made a ton of sense

At this point, Aaron Rodgers could come out and say that the sky is blue and a hoard of internet mouth-breathers are still going to say he has no idea what he's talking about. But even the loudest, angriest keyboard warriors will have a hard time finding fault with one of his latest takes that involves Egypt and ... Augusta National?
On Tuesday morning, the New York Jets quarterback joined WFAN's "Boomer & Gio Show" featuring former Jets quarterback Boomer Esiason and his co-host Gregg Giannotti for an annual training camp sitdown interview. Naturally, the topic of Rodgers' recent offseason trip to Egypt came up, one that created a classic N.Y. media firestorm since the trip occurred during mandatory minicamp, which Rodgers was subsequently fined for.
Rodgers explained how important the trip was for his mental health, a much-needed explorative journey after the disappointment of last season, when he tore his achilles on the first play from scrimmage in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. Giannotti then asked Rodgers if Egypt, a place he said he wanted to visit since he was a child, lived up to the hype.
"It was one of the few places in life where it kind of exceeded the expectations, to be honest" Rodgers said. "The only other place that was kind of like that was when I went to Augusta [National]."
If you ignore the fact that one place is literally all brown sand and one place is literally all green grass (and pink azaleas), this makes a ton of sense. Everyone who goes to Augusta National, myself included (NBD), says the exact same thing - it exceeds your expectations. I've never been to Egypt, but I'd imagine it's a similar, overwhelming feeling when you lock eyes on those pyramids. Amen Corner, the Giza pyramid complex, potato, potahto.
