Just had a great interview with Marcus Svensson, co-founder of the fantastic Tour Wind app, for an upcoming story. Marcus uses info in his app to build these wind charts for tour players. Exact numbers are dependent on a player's specific ball-flight characteristics But basically, you plug that info into Marcus' wind formula and you can calculate the exact amount of effect for every shot-and-wind combo.

In the example below: For this player, a 170-yard shot with a 14 mph headwind will result in a 24-yard distance loss, so that 170-yard shot is playing more like 194 yards.
