Some of the cool perks that come with retirement are gifts and Anna Nordqvist,

who just played the final LPGA event of her career and made the cut at the FM Championship in Boston, received hugs, congratulatory texts, warm wishes, and a couple nice bottles of champagne. Both of those gifts had special meaning for the 39-year-old Swede. “I got a really, really nice bottle of, I think it was champagne, but I'm not sure. I don't drink a ton. That was from Lydia Ko the other day,” Nordqvist said. “It was a vintage of 2009 and that was my rookie year. When I got greeted off the 18th hole, I just received another of the same brand, and that was 2017, and obviously a very important year in my life because that was when I won my first major in Europe. I've had a lot of messages and a lot of support this week, so I'm very grateful.”

Nordqvist closes her career with nine LPGA titles and three majors. She will captain Europe in the Solheim Cup Sept. 11-13 at Bernardus Golf Club in the Netherlands.
