for the final round of the 1986 Masters with a visor that had two Nike swooshes on it. The backstory is almost too good. Nike had given Seve shirts to wear that week, but no hat or visor. Knowing he'd be on camera all Sunday with a chance to win, he went to the Augusta National pro shop, bought a Masters visor, cut two Nike logos off his shirts, and glued them over the Masters logo.

One swoosh wasn't big enough to cover it. So he used two.

Seve signed with Nike in 1985, becoming the first pro golfer to carry the swoosh. He almost rewarded them with a win. He held a three-shot lead on the back nine before finding the water on 15, opening the door for Nicklaus to complete one of the great final-round charges in major history.

The visor didn't win. But the improvisation was pure Seve.
