The World No. 1 started the day at East Lake three behind Victory Hovland and two behind Ryan Gerard. After scrambling to make par on the first hole, Scheffler did this on the par-3, 211-yard second hole. Yes, he damn near made it, the ball coming to rest two inches from the cup. That quickly moved him to two off the pace. Game on.
