Matt Wallace has one of the most technically sound swings in the game.
A big focus for the five-time DP World Tour winner is keeping connection between his right arm and the body. Wallace lets his right arm fold early in his backswing to keep his arms synced up with his body's turn. Then coming into impact, Wallace focuses on keeping his right arm tucked to his side, which creates a stable clubface. What should amateurs copy from Wallace’s swing? A connected right arm would help, but Wallace says don’t underestimate the importance of flow and rhythm.
“Obviously you want to work positionally to improve your swing, but day-to-day, I would work on tempo and keeping the rhythm nice and smooth. Let the ball get in the way rather than smacking it.”
