Rose has finished T-3 or better in three of the last six majors, an impressive stretch for any golfer let alone one about to turn 46 this summer. Given that the upcoming PGA Championship is visiting Aronimink—a course where he’s won in the past—there was a thought that Rose might finally be able to pick up a second major title. Alas, Rose’s curious equipment switch to McLaren Golf is not paying dividends in his first event with the new clubs, as Rose is tied for last in the limited-field Cadillac Championship with one round to go. Rose is losing a whopping two strokes to the field from tee-to-green, despite being average off the tee. In itself, nothing to be too worried about; it’s only one tournament (and three rounds at that). Conversely, Rose already experienced a career bump not long ago when he made an ill-fated foray with Honma Golf when he was No. 1 in the World. Hopefully for the Englishman this switch goes better.
