Golf Channel is broadcasting the Abilene Christian Intercollegiate this week from Halbert National.

A year ago, our Alex Myers wrote about this unique private course that opened in 2025 roughly 40 miles southwest of Fort Worth. And when we say private, we mean private … as in no members or tee times. The course is owned by David Dean Halbert, who founded the biotech group Caris Life Sciences and is estimated to be worth nearly $5 billion according to Forbes. A few years ago, Halbert befriended Tom Fazio and hired him to build a “no budget” 7,500-yard, par-72 championship. The $50 million course is something Halbert and friends play (he’s also invited Dallas-Fort Worth tour pros to check the place out), but this week some of the top men’s (Texas A&M, Arizona, SMU and Houston) and women’s (Oregon, Arizona State, Tennessee and Baylor) college teams are competing there.
