Overview
Conveniently located between Chicago and Milwaukee, Geneva National Resort & Club offers three layouts designed by Hall of Famers Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Lee Trevino. The Player course presents plenty of risk/reward options, with split fairways, ravines and water hazards all coming into play. There are some beautiful views of Lake Como, especially on the par-5 16th, which plays directly toward the lake. The resort offers stay-and-play packages for those looking to play all three courses.

“Really enjoyable course with good elevation changes. Really good layout that wanders way off into the property and comes back. Really like the hero shot opportunities on some par fours. Same risk reward with their par fives. Course in good condition given how much play they get. Really a good destination course."

“Scenic and well-maintained, but numerous forced carries will minimize the fun for lesser players."

“Geneva National: Player was a surprise. The course is full of thoughtful golf holes that are flat-out fun. The par 4 5th hole is one of the most unique short par 4's I have played. Several of the back tee boxes create dramatic, chute-like tee shots including the 10th and 18th holes. A fun, challenging, well-conditioned resort course."

“Some cool holes that would be welcome additions to most top courses."

“Probably the best of the three courses on Geneva National, Player did a good job with the variety of design with a strong collection of holes going in different directions and requiring a variety of shots. A few weak holes in the mix but overall a very good course in good shape, perfect for the resort player. Cost has gone up significantly, and conditioning was an issue on 3 or 4 holes."

“The Gary Player Course at Geneva National Resort has wide fairways providing players with a variety of options of how to attack the holes. There are many risk reward decisions both off the tee and into the greens, some forced carries and greens in which you can run or fly the ball onto the putting surface. The course has a good mix of long, medium and short par 3's, 4's and 5's that vary in direction as well. The forced carries are manageable for players if they play from the set of tees that match their skills and despite trouble lurking on many holes the course plays challenging but fair as well struck shots and good decisions will avoid the penalty areas. Course conditions are what you would expect from a resort and due to the variety of holes, amount of shot options available and risk/reward decisions this is a fun course to play. There are 7 sets of tees to choose from making the course range from 4,816 - 6,909 yards long."

“Tough from back tees. Lots of carries either off the tee or into the greens. Tough for Ladies or short hitters. Couple of holes are hard to figure out the first time you play it."
