“TPC Wisconsin offers solid shot options off the tee, demanding thoughtful club selection. Built on former marshland and elevated during renovation, hazards are in play on most holes, making precision essential. Aggressive players who take on tighter lines with driver are rewarded with better angles and shorter approaches, while conservative options remain viable. Approaches can be flown or run up, and chipping areas around most greens offer recovery chances to save par. Hazard placement defines the challenge at TPC Wisconsin. Fairways and greens are wide and receptive to well-struck shots, but misses are quickly punished. Even hazards not connected to the marsh—like the bunkers short and right of the 8th green—create problems. Accuracy in both direction and distance is critical. The par 3s add to the challenge, with three requiring long irons or hybrids; only the 17th plays short. The layout leans heavily toward holes that play straight or move right, with only one notable left-turning hole. This limits directional variety, though elevation changes are used effectively, with several up/down/flat combinations. The par 4s are well balanced—four short, five medium, two long—and the par 5s play as true three-shot holes from the tips. While the terrain is generally flat, TPC Wisconsin provides open sightlines and a clean, modern aesthetic presentation. The course blends marshland vistas with residential development—homes typically border one side of a hole, with wetlands on the other—creating a contrast that feels both polished and natural. Greens were in good shape overall, though signs of heavy play showed in a few areas. Fairways varied—excellent in spots, thin in others—likely recovering from aeration or summer stress. Even so, they played firm, greens were receptive to quality shots, and putts held their line. Golf is the main attraction at TPC Wisconsin, complemented by strong amenities including a large tennis complex and an inviting restaurant that help foster camaraderie among members and guests. TPC Wisconsin is a thoughtful test that rewards smart course management and offers plenty of strategic interest. With familiarity of hazard placement and ideal lines, it becomes even more enjoyable on repeat play. I look forward to returning in the future."

“One of the more difficult courses in the TPC network. Tee shots are an absolute premium and must find the fairway. Hardly any room to miss. Green shaped sizes and speeds are all good and with solid variety. Course flows through the property well. Really in good condition. Lots of water on the course and several holes required thinking through execution."

“Removal of 650 trees exposes much of the wetlands that lined the holes, outside of the tree lines. Water now comes into play on almost every hole. Green complexes are modestly sloped with many green surrounds having closely mown collection areas. The course could be picked up and moved to the east coast of Georgia or along the gulf coast in Mississippi and it would fit right in. Just would be missing a palm tree or two and some gators."

“TPC Wisconsin has wide, firm fairways surrounded by wetlands and ponds. The wetland areas make fairways seem more narrow than they are and on most holes you have the option to fly or run you approach shots onto the green. There is a good mix in the lengths of holes and the routing makes the course very walkable for players of all ages. Fairways are in great condition and the putting surfaces roll extremely smooth. Low handicappers won't have too much trouble navigating the course and will find many scoring opportunities but it can be a long day for high handicappers that struggle hitting the ball straight."

“TPC Wisconsin underwent a significant renovation re-routing holes, creating new and improved green complexes, and raising fairways to improve turf conditions. This was the old Cherokee Country Club. Holes wind through the marsh/wetlands so bring a lot of golf balls! Course has a great tee system so find the correct set of tees and you will have a more enjoyable experience. The course will host the AmFam Senior Championship starting in 2025."
