“One of three Texas courses to hold the US Open (1952-Julius Boros) and host of the US Open sectional qualifiers on a semi-regular basis as well as other important state competitions. Well-maintained parkland course with an excellent mix of holes. Routing is a bit choppy due to a major road bisecting the club course, but it is highly playable and always a challenge. P:rivate, but with a large membership, an invitation is not impossible."

“Northwood Club hosted the US Open in 1952 and was restored in 2017 by Trip Davis. White Rock creek cuts through the course in several places, visible through deep walls of chalk. The course is defined by this Creek. On most holes there are slight blind shots and the player starts to feel as though the Creek is lurking out there, just beyond a steep slope in the fairway or greenside to swallow your ball. Very walkable course with an outstanding caddie program, pro shop, and restaurant. Practice facilities are outstanding."
