Built along the Rio Grande with stunning views of Big Bend National Park, Black Jack’s Crossing is the perfect combination of excellent golf, beautiful aesthetics and history. The course was named after a U.S. Army general, and its pro shop served as a trading post for cowboys and miners in the 1800s. As you play over ravines and navigate your way through rocky cliffs, don’t forget to stop and appreciate the story behind this unique piece of land.

“This is way in the middle of nowhere. Course was enjoyable and my opinion is the back more so than the front. First few holes were flat and nondescript but once the terrain and elevation changes kicked in, starting with the fourth hole, it became much more interesting. The scenery is awe inspiring. Fairways were firm and fast however the greens have so much slope and undulation that there are few places to put the pin and have it be fair. Greens were fast enough given the wind, heat and lack of humidity. Fairways were wide but that was due to the wind. A few really good risk / reward holes including number 7. Play was relatively slow due to the lack of a ranger."

“Several of the holes in the low area are just ok. But the routing up into the hills is fabulous. Has many heroic holes up in that area that are unique and really distinctive. Condition was just OK but the fun factor is really high. Worth the drive!"
