“The course is right in front of you. Very few holes have hazards (water, OB, etc.) on both sides of the fairway, thus allowing the golfer to play away from trouble and still have an approach to the green, albeit longer and from the rough, which makes controlling one's ball imperative. On the approach, many of the greens boarder water, marsh, and challenging bunker complexes. Most of the greens are open in front to allow the ball to be played along the ground in case of recovery or out of position drive. Around the greens, a player can use wedge, hybrid, or putter when missing in the proper spot."

“Supposedly the better of the two courses at Colleton River, the Dye Course is an extremely enjoyable, readily walkable, and playable layout. The course is bunkered beautifully with classic Pete Dye pot bunkers and waste bunkers and winds around beautiful houses on the front 9. The course opens up beginning with the gorgeous par 4 9th and plays along the water for much of the back 9. The visuals on these holes are extremely strong (especially 12-15) and memorable. Although a very flat course, there is quite a bit of variety here with four unique, differing length par threes and numerous doglegs in different directions. The back 9 and front 9 feel overall very different as well. Well-worth a play and a great Club."

“A gentle Dye course which was built on land near swamp and water's edge."

“Private Pete Dye design near Hilton Heard. Windy site with views of Port Royal Sound and the Atlantic Ocean. Site of the 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur won by Phillip Barbaree. Welcoming staff and membership. Play this one if offered the opportunity."

“36 hole private club in Hilton Head with many holes on tidal marsh lands. Dye put many small bunkers in places nobody would ever get in for visual effect. Really exposed so tough if the wind blows. Tough green complexes but worth playing if you can get invited."

“The better of the two courses here. If you get to play here make sure you walk to the back tees on the 9th hole, one of the coolest tee boxes you will see. Some really nice holes that weave in and out of the marshland."

“Well designed course by Pete Dye. Very walkable and not nearly as difficult as most Dye courses. If you play from the very back tees the course can be very difficult. A must to play if you get the chance. Beautiful setting with views to the Atlantic on a clear day."
