“Rhode Island CC is a charming course that starts on flatish land, rises to a hilly plateau, returns to flattish land and ends by the waterside. It feels a bit like stepping back in time, not overly groomed, a tad rough around the edges but a pleasure to play with subtle challenge in the green complexes and a generous dose of bunkering throughout fairways and around the greens. There are some truly standout holes which I would highlight as the uphill Par 4 3rd, the slightly short uphill par 4 6th, the longish par 3 10th with a large raised green, the uphill ( usually into the wind) par 4 14th which brought me right to Scotland and the short par 3 17th by the water's edge with a lighthouse in the background. A great walk and a fun round with ample challenge."

“The oceanside holes play quite a bit differently than some of the holes on the inland side, with wind significantly enhancing the challenge. Ross Green complexes add to the challenge as well, although the course is not long tee to green. Greens run firm and true however fairways and other surfaces can get a little soft/soggy at times. Decent mix of hole lengths and shapes however some of the inland holes lack distinctiveness until you get up by the green"

“A charming private club with numerous holes adjacent to the water. Windswept course with above average conditions. Worth the trip, if you can get out."

“An early Donald Ross design just outside of Providence, Rhode Island Country Club is perhaps best know for being the home of Brad Faxon and hosting the CVS Classic and 2011 U.S. Woman's Amateur. The course itself is on the shorter side, but features an interesting make-up of holes with strong variety. The first 6 holes play inland along wooded property, the next 8 play around swampy areas and a neighborhood, and the last 4 play across the road directly on the Bay, offering tremendous views of the Rhode Island shoreline. The course is not very challenging tee-to-green but features a fantastic group of Ross greens that are the defense of the course. Rhode Island is a strong golf state despite its small size and RICC is likely a top 5-6 best course in the state."
