“The most underrated golf course that I have played in the country. While not in the Merion and Oakmont conversation, it can stand with every other golf course in the State of Pennsylvania."

“Philadelphia is one of America's best golf cities with impressive depth and many excellent William Flynn designs. Rolling Green is one of the best courses in Philly and lives up to its name with a very hilly par 71 routing. The defining feature of the course is the fact that nearly every one of these greens is perched and elevated, with steep bunkers on either side and severe false fronts short. While quite open and forgiving off the tee, it's no exaggeration to say that Rolling Green might be one of the most difficult approach-shot courses in America due to this. The difficulty is also supplied by the greens themselves, which are quite fast and slope mainly hard-to-back to front with the land. Expect excellent firm, fast conditioning and aesthetics similar to nearby Lancaster. I would say Rolling Green is an underrated course and well-worth your time to see."

“Rolling Green is a gem of a William Flynn design in the golf-rich Philadelphia area. The land is dramatic and hilly, and the routing makes exceptional use of it. The quintet of par-3's at Rolling Green is particularly strong. The dramatic ridgeline green at the 6th hole, the massive chasm en route to the 14th green which slopes left to right, and the drop shot, heavily guarded 16th were examples of Rolling Green's exceptional layout variety and character."

“As soon as you see the course you know why it is named Rolling Green. It is a great rolling piece of land that the architect William Flynn masterly put to its highest purpose. The routing brilliantly uses the hills and valleys to place greens in ideal, often elevated spots, creating challenge throughout. A nearly universal trait of each hole is that every green, spare a couple, are open in front for run up shots. Green complexes are defined by grand slopes not undulations. To my experience the course has a unique ending group of five holes with the pars playing out as: 3-4-3-5-5. Two of the standout holes are 13 and 14. The 13th is a 430 yard par 4 from the back tees with a slight bend to the right. The second shot must cross a valley to an elevated green. Very deceptive visually. The Par 3 14th is stunning playing uphill 215 in actual yards but probably 235 with elevation. It is from this tee box that players walk across the iconic bridge to the green. With the tree clearing that has been done you can see 11 greens from the first tee. This course offers variety and fun and would be hard to surpass as a "members" course."

“Greens are the protection of this course and are the reason the it can be a challenge. While the work opened the property, it still puts importance on hitting the fairway to stop the ball on teh greens."

“Architecture enthusiasts will notice Rolling Green's great bones, the rest will probably only notice the three putts. At the very least it offers a unique golf experience."
