The Virtues Golf Club
Nashport, OH • Public
Overview
Course designer Arthur Hills called The Virtues (formerly known as Longaberger) "probably as beautiful as piece a property as I've had to work with." Told to route the course to preserve as many trees as possible, Hills made the brawny Virtues course wander gracefully from ridge top to valley, testing every shot with uphill, downhill and sidehill lies. It's Hills's most natural design, and it won Golf Digest's award for Best New Upscale Public Course of 2000.

Review
“Probably the best publicly available course in Ohio. Lots of different looks off the tees, with multiple options off the tee. Pace of play and conditioning could be improved. A couple of tees are in rough shape, due to lack of sun. A couple of greens also have some unplayable positions. Not over pricey. Worthy of a round."

“A public course with many of the features one would find in a private course. Good condition, fast greens, elevation change, and challenge."

“A beautiful, challenging course with excellent elevation changes and nice variety of holes. Wide fairways invite aggressive play off the tee, but trouble lurks everywhere in the form of bunkers, heavy rough, trees, water, and native vegetation. Not to be missed if in central Ohio."

“Fantastic public course. Make sure you play the correct tees or you could be in for a long day."
