Overview
Coldstream is one of Dick Wilson’s best courses. But like most of the work of his predecessors—Donald Ross, William Flynn, A.W. Tillinghast, et al.—much of the authenticity and nuance had been eroded and erased through time. Keith Foster’s work here in 2020, removing trees to restore the grandeur of the holes, expanding fairways and, most importantly, deepening bunkers and adjusting their edging to better reflect Wilson’s intricate shaping, is exceptional.

“Coldstream is an outstanding Dick Wilson design that challenges golfers of all ability levels. The greens are massive, many are 40-50 yards deep and contain a lot of movement on putts. Fairway bunkering creates risk/reward decisions on most holes and deep green side bunkers around the large greens place a high demand on approach shot distance control. This is a big course, excellently conditioned, and a real treat to play if you are fortunate to be invited by a member."
