“Van Cortlandt gets some bonus points for being the oldest public course in America but poor pace of play and mediocre conditions make it somewhat more of a novelty than excellent course these days. There are some nice holes out here, however, especially on the front 9. If you want some history and the full NYC muni experience, Van Cortlandt is a good option for tourists."
